The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test, which is also known as UPTET 2026, is an exam that people who want to be teachers need to take. Education Qualification
  1. Primary Level (Class 1 to 5): Bachelor’s degree from an NCTE-recognised institution with a valid teacher training qualification such as BTC, B.El.Ed, or equivalent. Final-year candidates are also eligible. Minimum 50% marks in graduation or a relevant training program are required.
  2. Upper Primary Level (Class 6 to 8): Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks (45% in some cases as per rules) from an NCTE-recognised institution with a valid teacher training qualification such as B.Ed, BTC, B.El.Ed, or equivalent. Final-year candidates are eligible. Candidates with specialised education qualifications (like Special Education) from RCI-recognised institutes are also eligible.

  1. Exam Mode: Offline (OMR Based)
  2. Question Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  3. Total Questions: 150 Questions per paper
  4. Total Marks: 150 Marks per paper
  5. Duration: 2 Hours 30 Minutes per paper
  6. Subjects (Paper I): Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics, Environmental Studies
  7. Subjects (Paper II): Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics & Science (for Science/Math teachers) OR Social Studies (for Social Studies teachers)

How to Apply for the UPTET Online Form 2026??

  1. Visit the Official Website: To start, go to upessc.up.gov.in. Alternatively, you can use the link provided below. Note that this link will be active from 27 March 2026.
  2. Find Application Link: Once you’re on the homepage, look for the “UPTET 2026 Online Application” link. Click on it.
  3. Register: If you’re new, click on “New Registration“. Here you’ll need to enter some details, like your name, email, and Mobile Number. This will help you get a registration number and password.
  4. Fill Application Form: Log in to your account and start filling out the application form. You’ll need to provide details, educational qualifications, and choose your preferred exam level, which could be Paper I, Paper II or Both.
  5. Upload Documents: You’ll also need to upload some documents. These include:
      • A recent passport-size photograph that meets the specifications
      • Your signature
      • Educational Certificates if they are required
  6. Pay Application Fee: The next step is to pay the application fee. You can do this online using a Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking or UPI.
  7. Submit & Print: Carefully review all your details, then click on Final Submit. Don’t forget to take a printout of the submitted application form for your reference.
